aF4 Tubing Replacement Instructions

Tools Required:

  • Phillips head screwdriver

  • Hex wrench (for pump)

  • Replacement tubing (available at indaquatics.com)


1. Remove the Housing

  1. Power Off & Unplug — Turn off the aF4 and disconnect it from the power source.

  2. Remove Housing Screws — Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the four screws in the corners of the base-plate securing the housing.

  3. Lift Off Housing — Carefully lift the housing away and set it aside.


2. Remove Old Tubing

  1. Locate Tubing Connections — Identify where the tubing runs from the solenoid manifold.  There are two vertical connections and one horizontal.

  2. Detach Tubing — Gently pull the tubing from all fittings, twisting slightly if needed to release.  Note: A small flathead screwdriver could be useful to get the tubing loose.


3. Remove Pump Face Plate and Pump Tubing

  1. Access Pump — Locate the pump.

  2. Remove Face Plate — Using the hex wrench, remove the four screws securing the pump face plate.

  3. Remove Pump Tubing — Pull the old tubing out of the pump assembly.


4. Install New Tubing

  1. Install Pump Tubing — Insert the new tubing into the pump, ensuring proper alignment and secure seating.

  2. Reinstall Pump Face Plate — Use the hex wrench to secure the face plate back onto the pump.

  3. Reconnect Tubing Runs — Attach the new tubing to all connection points, routing it in the original configuration with no kinks or sharp bends.


5. Reassemble the aF4

  1. Reinstall Housing — Place the housing back onto the unit and secure it with the Phillips head screws.

  2. Verify Fit — Ensure all panels are properly aligned and seated.


6. Test & Clean

  1. Reconnect Power — Plug in the aF4 and turn it on.

  2. Run a Test Feed — Confirm proper operation and check all connections for leaks.

  3. Run a Cleaning Cycle — Perform a full cleaning cycle to ensure the new tubing is flushed and ready for use.
