inD Connect Smart Home Integrations(Alexa/Siri/Google Home)Updated a month ago

Once your inD Connect is set up and paired with eWeLink, you can link it to Alexa™, Siri™, or Google Home™ to trigger feeds with a voice command or integrate your aF4 into your wider smart home routines.

Before you start: Make sure you have completed the inD Connect Setup Guide and your dongle is successfully paired with the eWeLink app.

Contents

  • Amazon Alexa
  • Apple Siri
  • Google Home

Amazon Alexa

  1. Download and open the Amazon Alexa app on your phone
  2. Tap the menu button (three lines) and select Skills & Games
  3. Search for eWeLink Smart Home and tap on the skill
  4. Tap Enable to Use — this will redirect you to the eWeLink app
  5. Tap the blue Link button — account linking should take less than a minute
  6. Alexa will search for connected devices from eWeLink. If your inD Connect doesn't appear automatically, add it manually on the next screen

Step 2 — Create a voice command routine in Alexa

  1. Open the Alexa app and tap the (+) plus sign, then select Routine
  2. Under WHEN, tap (+) and select Voice — enter your trigger phrase (e.g. "Feed the fish")
  3. Under ALEXA WILL, tap (+) and select Smart HomePlugs → select your inD Connect → set to ON → tap Next
  4. Under ALEXA WILL, tap (+) next to Add another action → scroll down to Wait → select 01 for a 1-minute wait → tap Next
  5. Under ALEXA WILL, tap (+) next to Add another action → select Smart HomePlugs → select your inD Connect → set to OFF → tap Next
  6. Save the routine

Using Alexa

Say: "Alexa, feed the fish" (or whatever trigger phrase you chose) to trigger a feed cycle.

You can also manage all your aF4 scheduling from within the Alexa app if you prefer it over eWeLink — create a scheduled routine the same way, replacing the Voice trigger with a Schedule trigger.

To edit or delete your routines, open the Alexa app and navigate to MoreRoutines.

Apple Siri

  2. Select the inD Connect device you want to control
  3. Tap the (three-dot) icon in the top right corner and select Smart Scene

Step 2 — Set the trigger and actions

  1. Under If This Triggers, tap Add and select Tap to Perform as the trigger

  3. Tap Add Action again → select Delay → set to 1 minute
  4. Tap Add Action again → select Smart Device → choose your inD Connect → set to OFF

Step 3 — Save and add to Siri

  1. Tap Save in the top right and name the scene with the phrase you want to use (e.g. "Feed the fish")
  2. Tap Save again
  3. On the next screen, tap Add to Siri and follow the on-screen instructions to record your command

Using Siri

Say: "Hey Siri, feed the fish" (or your chosen scene name) to trigger a feed cycle.

To edit or delete your Siri commands, open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.

Google Home

  1. Open the eWeLink app on your phone
  2. Select Connect Google Home at the top of the home screen
  3. Tap Link with Google Assistant — the app will redirect to Google Home and back

Step 2 — Add your device in Google Home

  1. Select the inD Connect you want to control and tap Next
  2. Select your location and tap Next, then select your room and tap Next

Step 3 — Create an automation in Google Home

  1. Open Google Home and tap Automations in the bottom menu, then tap Add
  2. Under type of routine, select Personal routine
  3. Tap Add Starter → select When I say to Google Assistant → enter your trigger phrase (e.g. "Feed the fish")

Step 4 — Add the actions

  1. Tap Add actionAdjust Home Devices → select your inD Connect → Turn on or Off → toggle Turn on to active (blue) → tap Add Action
  2. Tap Add action → scroll down to Delay start → enter 1 minute
  3. Tap Add actionAdjust Home Devices → select your inD Connect → Turn on or Off → toggle Turn off to active (blue) → tap Add Action
  4. Tap Save

Using Google Home

Say: "Okay Google, feed the fish" (or your chosen phrase) to trigger a feed cycle.

To edit or delete your automations, open Google HomeAutomations.

Important note for all platforms

Whichever platform you use, the underlying logic is always the same — the inD Connect must receive an ON signal for at least 10 seconds to trigger a feed, and must then be switched OFF before the next scheduled feed can run. The 1-minute delay built into each routine handles this automatically.
