Every aF4 is backed by a 1-year warranty(+1 month grace period) covering manufacturing defects and component failures under normal use conditions.
What is covered
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, including failures of the following components under normal operating conditions:
- Solenoid assembly
- Fan and cooling system
- PCB and electronics
- Power supply
- Pump
If your unit develops a fault that is not the result of physical damage, misuse, or improper installation, it is covered.
What is not covered
The following are not covered under warranty:
- Physical damage caused by the user — including drops, impacts, water ingress from improper installation, or damage from operating the unit in unsuitable conditions
- Damage from improper installation — including failure to follow setup instructions, incorrect power supply use, or salt mist exposure from inadequate ventilation in sump cabinets
- Consumable wear items — tubing, cleaning tablets, and other items that wear through normal use are not covered under warranty. See our Replacement Parts Guide for ordering information
Warranty period
The aF4 is covered for 13 months from the date of purchase — 12 months standard plus a 30-day grace period.
The warranty period begins on the date of purchase, not the date of first use. Keep a record of your purchase date.
How to make a warranty claim
Step 1 — Gather the following information:
- Your order number (if purchased directly from inD Aquatics) or proof of purchase (if purchased from a retailer)
- The serial number of your unit — found on the sticker on the underside of the aF4
- A clear photo or short video demonstrating the fault
- A brief description of the issue, when it started, and any troubleshooting steps you have already tried

Step 3 — We'll take it from there:
Our team will review your claim and respond with next steps. If the claim is approved, inD Aquatics covers the cost of return shipping. We will repair or replace the unit at our discretion and return it to you.
Purchased from a retailer?
The 13-month warranty applies regardless of where you purchased your aF4. If you bought through a retailer, simply provide proof of purchase (a receipt or order confirmation) along with your serial number when submitting your claim.
Tips for a smooth claim
- Keep your order confirmation or receipt somewhere accessible — you'll need it if you ever make a claim
- Register your serial number when you first set up your unit so it's easy to find later
